Trotzdem verbindet beide St\u00e4dte eine gemeinsame  &#8211;  und traurige &#8211;  Geschichte: 1472 eroberte ein Seefahrer aus LAGOS die Stadt ECO im heutigen NIGERIA und benannte sie in den Namen seiner Heimatstadt um. Au\u00dferdem gab es in LAGOS\/ Portugal seit 1444 den ersten <em>Sklavenmarkt <\/em>in Europa.
